Caffeine Crisis
Vancouver residents are currently being advised to boil their water as a result of heavy rain increasing turbidity in reservoirs. I work out of town on a site that's not close to any shops, therefore the company has a cafeteria - that's not serving coffee!! Fortunately there is also a Starbucks which is. As of 8:30 this morning the queue was 30 people deep…as it was at 9:20…by 10:15 it had reduced to about 15 so I took my place in line and waited to get my fix. The extra demand meant the till ladies from the cafeteria left their posts to come make coffee. I felt a little sorry for them as the rigorously trained Barista fired orders at them that they would either forget or get wrong. The guy who ordered 3 shots of espresso got them in Americano format, the woman who then ordered an Americano got…"oh, here's one that's freshly made"…"great". Well that will be a nice surprise for her.
It appears North America must have coffee as Britain must have tea - that reminds me, as we were landing into Vancouver I remember my fellow travelers saying they were looking forward to a good cup of tea (I've yet to find one). Sometimes you just can't help conforming to stereotypes ey?

So something in the water means you have to boil it if you want to make coffee? Am I missing something?
apparantly you don't boil the water you just get it to 90 degrees or so when making coffee...no kettles involved. Starbucks was either using pre-boiiled water or bottled water....or risking our health and cashing in while the canteen/cafeteria followed the health boards advice
im awaiting tea from england....get in line.
my lord, you have just given me the business idea that will finally make my millions......Selling tea to ex-pats around the world!! I think you have proved there is a market for it.
I'll cut you in for 10% if you fancy it??
10%, make it 20% and we have a deal!
depends what you are gonna do for the 20%!
